Grandpa's Electric Trash Cans

Grandpa was resourceful in solving problems with raccoons and the neighborhood dogs getting into our trash cans. He hooked up the cow's electric fence to include the trash cans.

The problem was that he forgot to tell Mom that the trash cans were a trap. When Mom went to dump the trash, she found out the hard way. Grandpa caught grief from Grandma.

But it did work well to keep coons and dogs out of our trash. That's the thing about redneck engineering — the solution works, and the paperwork comes later.
